Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers — Kendrick Lamar

Released in May 2022, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers served as Kendrick Lamar's grand finale for his historic tenure at Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). Following a five-year hiatus after the Pulitzer Prize-winning DAMN., Kendrick returned not with radio-ready club bangers, but with a sprawling, avant-garde theatrical production divided into two distinct volumes ("Big Steppers" and "Mr. Morale").

Anchored by narration from spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle and backing piano arrangements from Duval Timothy, the album plays out like an open therapy session. Kendrick bravely unpacks generational trauma, toxic masculinity, accountability, and the suffocating weight of fame. From the frantic, breathless delivery of "N95" and the soulful vulnerability of "Father Time" to the heartbreaking narrative of "Auntie Diaries," this album is a masterfully heavy, boundary-pushing audio experience that cements Kendrick's status as a peerless conceptual artist.

Pressing Details & Visuals

• French Original Pressing: Sourced from the definitive 2022 European production run, manufactured in France with high-precision lacquer cutting for clean, clear playback.

• Gatefold Presentation: Housed in a premium, heavy-cardstock gatefold jacket featuring the full, expanded album artwork layout and clean inner-gatefold photography.

• Intricate Soundstaging: The vinyl master beautifully separates the heavy, rattling 808 trap basslines from the delicate, organic piano keys and shifting vocal pitches.

• Custom Inner Sleeves: Includes two dedicated printed inner sleeves containing full album credits, legal notations, and lyric sheets.

Collector's Note: Throughout both discs, you will hear a recurring rhythmic clicking sound. This is the sound of tap-dancing—a deliberate motif symbolizing "The Big Steppers" dancing around their problems and the distractions of modern culture. Hearing this detail cut on a deep vinyl soundstage completely alters the atmospheric gravity of the record.
