IGOR — Tyler, The Creator

Released in May 2019, IGOR marked a massive turning point in Tyler, The Creator's career. Moving far beyond the aggressive rap styles of his early work, Tyler wrote, arranged, and produced the entire album himself, creating a seamless, continuous audio suite powered by pitch-shifted vocals, distorted analog synthesizers, and lush, 70s-inspired soul chords.

Narrated by comedian Jerrod Carmichael, the record follows the titular character "Igor" as he falls deeply in love with a partner who remains tethered to an ex. From the distorted synth-pop bliss of "EARFQUAKE" (featuring Playboi Carti and Charlie Wilson) to the intense, multi-phased aggression of "NEW MAGIC WAND," Tyler channels heartbreak into pure sonic energy. The record earned Tyler his very first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, solidifying his status as one of his generation's most visionary auteur producers.

Pressing Details & Visuals

• Original 2019 EU Pressing: Features the authentic original Columbia/Sony Europe production run with crisp, high-contrast sleeve printing and gatefold packaging.

• Full-Color Gatefold Jacket: Includes an open gatefold layout complete with printed lyrics, full album credits, and high-resolution inner portrait art.

• Custom Inner Sleeve & Picture Insert: Comes with a dedicated printed inner bag and a double-sided insert featuring Tyler's signature Igor portrait.

• Continuous Audio Flow: Sequenced specifically so the final track, "ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?", loops seamlessly back into the opening synth hum of "IGOR'S THEME."

Collector's Note: Tyler famously advised listeners before release not to expect a traditional hip-hop record, asking fans to play the album front-to-back without skipping. On vinyl, this sequencing truly shines—the transitions between side tracks (like "EXACTLY WHAT YOU RUN FROM YOU END UP CHASING" into "RUNNING OUT OF TIME") feel like a live, uninterrupted theatrical performance.
